Christians - who convinced you of the truth of god/jesus?

...And there you have it. My take on Christianity (and attempt to defend it, pardon me I can be a tad arrogant.)

I haven't responded to every post (I've been posting in gaps between clients at work) I leave it here.Perhaps someone of a different faith can make it interesting. Cheers all.

How do you know the Adam And Eve fall from paradise story is literal not allegorical?

One historical interpretation I read is that it represents the transition from a pastoral free roaming nomadic life to fixed communists and agriculture.

It reads...God was regretful making man because the people who did atrocious evil - he would be the one to mete out the consequences.

A real 'all-powerful' creator god could just snap his fingers and we would all cease to exist.
Drowning a whole planet, sending us to hell one by one ... that's just evil and vindictive.
Your god is all too HUMAN to be a real god.
WAKE UP, the flood, heaven/hell are just stories, written by humans to scare you.

Sacred land
Prayer beads, wheels and roseries.

Pick and choose.

Reject gays because it says so in Leviticus, but eat pork even though Leviticus says not to.

Christian 'biblical' based morality does not exist. It is what ever any Christian interpreters it to be on any issue.

The gospel Jesus was a Jew preaching to Jews calling them back to Moses and the prophets.

A big trouble with Bible-based morality is that for about 1,500 years the printing press didn't exist, plus also most people were illiterate, so they learnt their "Bible-based morality" from preachers, that is men. These men could as easily have taught morality from any other source, plus they were very selective in what they taught. If they taught the 10 Commandments, then they were not saying that rape is bad, because there is no Commandment against rape. Also for thousands of years before the Bible came along people were aware that murder and theft were wrong, and there were laws about this. So people's morality actually came from society (including how people treated each other) and its laws.

Incidentally, Christians are very scared of death, and that fear is the major basis of their religion - a promise that you will have an afterlife.

Ceremonial burials date back at least 40,000 years.
They put things in graves that they hoped the dead could use in the Afterlife.

Peter was given the option of what food to eat in Acts 10:9-16. The church has followed that for about 2000 years.
James, as noted in Acts 15:28-29, gave some guidance on what Gentiles could eat to keep peace with Jewish believers - no blood in the body and no strangled animals.
He did not say what food could not or could not be eaten, just how it was killed or prepared. The church has followed that for about 2000 years.
