I would like to read up on the gay and trans issues since they are in the news so much. But I have no psychological training and do not know where to start.

Any of you know any reliable scientific sources that discuss why gay people are gay and trans people trans.

My primary care doctor uses a search engine hat only shows peer reviewed papers.

I expect there is a lot of bad information out there on gays and trtans.

When it comes down to it does 'why' really matter? Gay has been documented in Egyptian tombs and identified in animal species also.

Same-sex attraction is a divisive issue in America, as some see it as a vice and a sign of moral decay, and others see it as a form of mental illness.

RESEARCH-BASED SCIENCE:
1. Research shows that mothers of homosexual children used Tylenol heavily during pregnancy. Just say no to Tylenol. Don't let your doctor prescribe Tylenol. Take anything else but Tylenol. Endure a little pain rather than taking Tylenol. It will mess you up. Stay away from Tylenol.
2. The public schools have become a recruiting ground for sex envoys of the LBGTQ world. Not only have Massachusetts and New York elementary schools mandated weekly drag queen story hours beginning in kindergarten, they have launched discriminatory practices which discourage the hiring of cis-gender teachers. In Minneapolis, the primary grade restrooms have been redesigned with glory holes, 'dark encounter' stalls, and fashion show runways. Seattle public schools ran a Jeff Stryker film festival, during instruction time, for the sixth grade. In San Francisco, the lunchroom milk cartons have been spiked with Tylenol.
The NEA has established a Pink Flamingos Prize to the teacher who recruits the most students to the LGBTQ lifestyle. This prize, with a cash bonus of $50,000 or more, is given clandestinely each year at some Rhode Island beach community. The 2023 award was presented by Nancy Pelosi, dressed in a tuxedo and top hat.
3. Obstetric research shows us that, in twin births, if one twin is in the breech position and one is head-down, the twins will be gay.

You could start by staring a conversation with any of the several gay/trans members on the forum.

Gay people are gay specifically because they react to men in some way that makes them attracted to those men.

Trans people are trans... Well, imagine tomorrow someone hit you with a magic spell and suddenly today, your body is of a different apparent sex, but nothing else about you is different: the same feelings occur looking at girls and/or boys as before; the same interests pique your interests; the same way of acting feels just as right today as it did yesterday, BUT you can tell you don't really "feel like yourself", like something subtle is wrong when it wasn't before, like your own mind and personality are quietly fighting you, or maybe more accurately fighting something inside of you, like some impetus or suggestion deep in your mind to behave some specific way that you know deep down isn't really how you want to act but you find yourself unable to not think that way sometimes, like an unwanted, persistent invasive thought...

If you can really think about gay people, and trans people, though, my first suggestion is to absolutely NOT start with the "why are gay people gay" route. There's no faster way to alienate gay and trans people than to have some 'splain knowledge to roll out.
