One of the benefits of working for Door Dash* is that you get a daily meal credit when you're at the office. The east valley of Phoenix (where we're located) has a bevy of great restaurants we can order from all the way from chains down to local joints. You want a Cornish pasty? A Sri Lankan Dosa? A Detroit coney dog? A nuclear hot New Mexican chile relleno? Done.
Today, I ordered a "New York Steamer" from Firehouse Subs. Yes, a chain, but a pretty good mix of corned beef, pastrami, and provolone. I also ordered a bag of cheddar cheese Ruffles potato chips, but apparently they were out, so I was given a substitution (Cheddar Sun Chips).
At the bottom of the bag was a hand-written note apologizing for the substitution that ended with "have a kind day."
Whomever put the order together didn't have to do that, and it was a nice touch.
*No, I don't drive for Door Dash. Nothing against the people who do, but I work in a very nice office. Also, that Cornish pasty place has a killer Cottage Pie pasty. The red wine gravy is to die for.
