What Are You Eating Today?

Well, what are we eating today?

Today became National Men Make Dinner Day.

But somehow *hint* *hint* this transformed into National Chinese Takeout Day.

So I am ordering Chinese food.
When is National Women Mow the Lawn Day?

That's the same as National Hot Young Landscapers Day.
Good answer. I was afraid you were going to say, 'Right before "National Beave Sleeps in the Doghouse Day'".

When is National Women Mow the Lawn Day?
That was once a week from spring through autumn from 1996 to 2000. Then we moved and paid the neighbor kid to mow the lawn instead of me.

When is National Women Mow the Lawn Day?
Every time the lawn gets mowed, here.

But I came here to ask how long has vegan cheese existed, and I didn't know?

At Southern Cross station over the weekend I discovered vegan cheese as part of a Mexican takeaway.

I am a carnivore who can't do milk proteins, and last night I smothered some corn chips in that stuff and satisfied a 20 year craving.

It's not the same as actual cheese but I am not in a position to be picky.

My best friend/sister has known about it for a while. After a gallbladder infection she went completely ‘whole foods plant based’ then vegan in terms of diet, not philosophy (she still has pets etc). She has been having vegan cheese for a while. It was difficult there for a while when we went out for dinner simply because I felt ‘judged’ for not going vegan. We will occasionally go veggie here, very occasionally, but will still had regular cheese.

I will make a veggie casserole with whatever I have left in the fridge and a few cans of different beans, and will eat this while Bilby is on lates.

We are having pork ends tonight. It’s 9:18 am here and they are in the oven on 120C and will be so for a good 5-6 hours.

Pork ends are some chunky bits of pork from various parts of the pig that aren’t big enough or substantial enough for something else. It’s never the hock, he sells those separately for dogs. These are marinated in honey and soy and I cook them in Mama (my big Le Creuset) on a bed of onions, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms and zucchini, with a can of tinned tomatoes at the bottom and top with some red wine. They cook low and slow and come out beautifully!
